to Quinette Hammon,
I've been researching Andy Goldsworthy for my art project and what it basically means is that humans think they can change nature but in the end nature will prevail. he does this by making whatever he can with the given materials but it is always something that in time disintegrates with the weather and rejoins the land it came from.

I am so enlightened to see this work and hear Andy talk about his connection to the earth. He speaks the truth for all of us. I especially like that he makes it so easy for me to see his connectedness to his process, and not so much the outcome. He teaches us to "let go' in a way that is so important today. The process is the thing. Nothing is important before or after. This is exactly how nature is!

Cheers for the blog. We've started our first office in San Francisco, and shipping has been sorted also - so no problems there. We just had our first 10-day design challenge which was awesome, with some exceptional designs entered from around the world. Check it out on http://blog.ponoko.com/2008/03/18/the-25-chosen-ones-jewelry-design-challenge-open-round-winners/.

Don't hesitate in contacting me if you'd like to be part of our media list for future design/create/make info!

walk around the east village and into 'alphabet city' , so called because the streets become 'avenue a' etc instead of E(ast) 1st etc. also walk around chinatown and litttle italy, next to each other. you can spend hours walking from the east village into alphabet city, down to little italy, via NOLITA and onto china town. walk, walk, walk the best thing to do.
walk over the brooklyn bridge at least to the middle and look back onto the city, infact walk across with out looking back until you get to the center. way cool.

Eating / Drink:
Katz Diner
Katz diner - on lower east side... Harry met Sally – proper NY diner... waitresses have been working there forever – dont expect frills – you get a counter ticket to order... oh and have the pastrami sandwich with a root beer.

The London NYC
Restaurant owned/run by Gordon Ramsey – bizarre food – not for everyone... have the BLT starter – it's not what your expecting.

FREEDMAN'S
cool bar/restaurant in Lower East side- stuffed animals on
walls etc – Freeman's Ally - off Rivington at the Bowery end. Lower East Side.

BARRIO CHINO
amazing little mexican restaurant, very local, low key, cool. Brilliant food. You need to get there early or book though... as its small and fills up quick – I went and couldn't get in...
253 Broome St. NY 1002, Lower East Side. Ph. 212 228 6710.
Not sure you can book- just rock up (early)

THOR
Restaurant/bar in Hotel on Rivington. Swish hotel I had the pleasure of staying at last time i visited. Entrance is worth taking a look at – gets very BAR orientated on Thursday and Friday evenings so not the time to go for a quiet meal – quite London-ish wanky - but cool.

BLUE
Inside the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) – Really good restuarant – we had early evening meal - and it was amazing – book it – top service.

The Leverhouse
Well this was my favourtie meal – great food – speand some money go on... great wine - quiet – good for a meal and a relax – interior designed my marc Newson...
www.leverhouse.com
390 Park Ave

SEE:

sex shop – www.babeland.com
Rivington Street, Lower East side

Moma
Gallery of Modern art – go you know you want to.

CONEY ISLAND
Apparently they are going to pull it down - so check it
still open - if it is go – only thing i regret not doing...!

THE MET
Rooftop cafe - great views over central park

GUGGENHEIM

Museum of Natural History
Sounds crap but it isn't - do it...

Central Park
Walk around it – watch baseball – tar pits – candy floss.

Woody Allen – Carlyle Hotel
35 E 76th St
+1 212-744-1600
Every Monday night: he starts playing at 8.45
You need to get there by 6ish to q for a seat at the bar if you haven't booked a table.

Empire State building
Yeah well its got to be done... and one of those things where the pictures you look at when your home are better than the real thing – defiantly pay for the audio guide as its redeculous... and definately pay and get the picture of yourselves at the end (they take it before you go up and pay for it when you return) – priceless....

SHOP:
APC- store in Soho

BARNEY'S CO-OP- best denim selection in the city

APPLES store (on 5th I think) – its big and shiney and underground.

Go to all the big depatment stores...

Can't recall the actual days and miles. Jen's got all the details. We're going end of July into Aug. I'll be twittering, so you'll keep up to date. Sorry I got quiet on the first leg, but family took over. We went to a great museum/playground in St Louis on Sat and Caving on Sunday before we got home.

Check out the museum. It's very cool. A concept that would work well in London . . . I smell a business opportunity.
